September 17: Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) which had floated a global notice inviting tender (NIT) for procurement of 7,00,000 tons of low Silica limestone has extended the last date for submission of bids till September 24, 2012, according to information available with ISMW.
The material is to be procured in sizes 10-35mm (250,000 tons) and 30-60mm (450,000 tons) with +/-25% quantity variation at the option of SAIL and is to be delivered to eastern Indian ports such as Gangavaram, Vizag, Paradip and Haldia for use at its various plants at Bhilai, Durgapur, Rourkela, Bokaro and Burnpur.
The Limestone to be procured has to be delivered during November/December 2012 till June/July 2012, as per the tender notice.
Earlier the last date for bid submission was scheduled on September 13, 2012 which has now been extended.
