September 21: Containerized scrap offers to India are quoted at $390/ton CFR Nava Sheva for HMS 1&2 and around $405/ton CFR Nava Sheva for shredded variety, sources told ISMW.
Demand for imported scrap is picking up a bit as rupee has gained by about 2% in the last one week after government's decision to open foreign direct investment for few sectors followed by disinvestment and hike in fuel prices, sources said.
Buyers are also showing interest in buying scrap on hopes that the finished steel demand would rise in October after the end of monsoons, sources added.
Odisha iron ore prices stable
September 20: Iron ore prices in Odisha remained stable with low demand conditions prevailing, a source told ISMW.
Fines prices hovered around Rs 2000 for 62% Fe content and Rs 2050 for 63% Fe content loaded to wagons.
The highest offers were around Rs 2300 for 63% Fe content fines loaded to wagons.
