Brazilian flat steel product exports in April increased 19% in volume from the same month a year ago, while revenue grew 11.6%, Ministry of Development and Trade data showed Monday.
The ministry said Brazil last month exported 131,300 mt of flat steel products, up from 110,400 mt in April 2014, while revenue rose to $92.7 million FOB from $83.1 million FOB a year earlier.
April shipments, however, plunged 58% from March's 312,400 mt, with revenue slipping 53.1% from $197.7 million FOB month on month.
Brazil's April exports of semi-finished steel fell 3.9% to 407,800 mt from 424,300 mt in April 2014.
Overall sales dropped 27.5% to $161.1 million FOB.
On the monthly comparison, April semi-finished steel exports were down 29.1% from March's 575,600 mt, while overall sales fell 34.4% from $245.7 million FOB.
