The export of iron ore by Brazil to China rose 10.8 percent year on year to 111 million tons between January and August, according to figures released by the Bureau of Foreign Trade (Secex).
The ore sold in the first eight months of the year brought in revenues of US$8.4 billion, which represents a year on year drop of 7.44 percent, Secex said.
Brazil’s total exports to China amounted to US$31.7 billion from January to August, or 0.26 percent less in annual terms.
The main products sold to China were soybeans, meal and oil, iron ore and crude oil, which accounted for 83.7 percent of the total.
