Domestic iron ore prices remained stagnant in August owing to high inventory levels in both Odisha and Chhattisgarh, an industry source said.
Iron ore availability has gone up from the mines of NMDC and mines of Odisha, the source said.
In the April-July period of the current fiscal, iron ore production in Odisha stood at 28 million tons, while despatches stood at 26 million tons, he said.
“With inventory levels remaining high there is hardly any chance for movement in prices as miners are adopting a wait-and-watch policy,” the source added.
