India Steel Market Watch
December 23: HRC offers remained unchanged on the back of sluggish sales in most parts of the country, industry sources said.
Prices remained bound between Rs 26,700-28,900 per ton.
Sources said offers from China remained unchanged at around $270 per ton CFR Mumbai following the imposition of the 20% safeguard duty on hot rolled coils some time back.
The duty was imposed on hot-rolled flat products of non-alloy and other alloy steels, and coils of width of 600 mm or more.
Sources said Chinese and Russian exporters have factored in the 20% provisional safeguard duty in their offers.
