Handling of steel (imports of steel coils, steel pipe and steel billets and exports of coated pipes and steel coils) by Kandla Port stood at 96,373 tons in November 2015, recording a fall of 25.67% from 129,660 tons handled in October 2015, as per provisional data available with ISMW.
However, during the first eight months (April-November) of 2015-16, steel handling by this port stood at 983,834 tons, showing a rise of 42.37% from 691,063 tons handled in the same period of 2014-15.
Similarly, handling of steel by the port in November 2014 stood at 65,405 tons, which shows that handling was up 47.34% y-o-y.
On the other hand, handling of imported steel (steel coils, steel pipes and steel billets) by the port stood at 89,388 tons in November 2015, showing a fall of 31.06% from 129,660 tons handled in October 2015.
However, during the first eight months (April-November) of 2015-16, imported steel handling by this port stood at 938,313 tons, showing a rise of 39.73% from 671,507 tons handled in the same period of 2014-15.
Similarly, imported steel handled by the port in November 2014 stood at 65,405 tons, up 36.67% y-o-y.
Meanwhile, imported steel coils handled by Kandla Port stood at 39,757 tons in November 2015, showing a fall of 51.75% from 82,396 tons handled in October 2015.
However, during the first eight months (April-November) of 2015-16, imported steel coils handling by this port stood at 509,052 tons, showing a rise of 15% from 442,778 tons handled in the same period of 2014-15.
Similarly, handling of imported steel coils by the port in November 2014 stood at 8,395 tons, which shows that handling was up 373.58% y-o-y.
On the other hand, handling of imported steel pipes by Kandla Port stood at 44,628 tons in November 2015, recording a fall of 5.58% from 47,264 tons handled in October 2015.
However, during the first eight months (April-November) of 2015-16, imported steel pipe handling by this port stood at 419,302 tons, showing a rise of 83.31% from 228,729 tons handled in the same period of 2014-15.
Similarly, handling of imported steel pipes by the port in November 2014 stood at 57,010 tons, which shows that handling was down 21.72% y-o-y.
Meanwhile, handling of imported steel billets by Kandla Port stood at 5.003 tons in November 2015, while there was no such handling in October 2015.
During the first eight months (April-November) of 2015-16, imported steel billets handling by this port stood at 9,959 tons. There was no such handling in the same period of 2014-15.
Similarly, there was no handling of imported steel billets by the port in November 2014.
On the other hand, handling of exported steel (steel coils and coated pipes) by Kandla Port stood at 6,985 tons in November 2015, while there was no such handling in October 2015.
However, during the first eight months (April-November) of 2015-16, steel exports by this port stood at 45,521 tons, showing a rise of 132.77% from 19,556 tons handled in the same period of 2014-15.
There was no steel exported through the port in November 2014.
Meanwhile, there was no handling of exported steel coils by Kandla Port in October and November 2015.
However, though there was no handling of exported steel coils during the first eight months (April-November) of 2015-16, while 5.946 tons of it was handled in the same period of 2014-15.
There was no handling of exported steel coils by the port in November 2014.
On the other hand, handling of exported coated pipe by Kandla Port stood at 6,985 tons in November 2015, while there was no such handling in October 2015.
During the first eight months (April-November) of 2015-16, exported coated pipe handling by the port stood at 45,521 tons, showing a rise of 234.47% from 13,610 tons handled in the same period of 2014-15.
There were no coated pipes exported through the port in November 2014.
