December 28: Handling of steel (imported steel and exported steel, HR coil and pipe) by Magdalla Port stood at 151,576 tons in November 2015, showing a rise of 62.32% against 93,376 tons handled in October 2015, as per provisional data from port sources available with ISMW.
However, during the first eight months (April-November) of 2015-16, steel handling by this port stood at 771,241 tons, showing a marginal decline of 0.06% from 771,734 tons handled in the same period of 2014-15.
Similarly, handling of steel by the port in November 2014 stood at 90,949 tons, which shows that handling was up 66.66% y-o-y.
On the other hand, handling of steel import by Magdalla Port stood at 32,079 tons in November 2015, showing a rise of 66.01% against 19,324 tons handled in October 2015.
However, during the first eight months (April-November) of 2015-16, steel import handling by this port stood at 115,380 tons, showing a decline of 30.05% from 164,953 tons handled in the same period of 2014-15.
Similarly, handling of steel import by the port in November 2014 stood at 31,882 tons, which shows that handling was marginally up 0.62% y-o-y.
Meanwhile, handling of steel export by Magdalla Port stood at 119,497 tons in November 2015, showing a rise of 61.39% against 74,042 tons handled in October 2015.
However, during the first eight months (April-November) of 2015-16, steel export handling by this port stood at 655,861 tons, showing a rise of 8.09% from 606,781 tons handled in the same period of 2014-15.
Similarly, handling of steel export by the port in November 2014 stood at 59,067 tons, which shows that handling was sharply up 102.31% y-o-y.
On the other hand, handling of HR coil export by Magdalla Port stood at 106,666 tons in November 2015, showing a rise of 84.04% against 57,958 tons handled in October 2015.
However, during the first eight months (April-November) of 2015-16, HR coil export handling by this port stood at 350,769 tons, showing a rise of 1.19% from 346,638 tons handled in the same period of 2014-15.
Similarly, handling of HR coil export by the port in November 2014 stood at 32,336 tons, which shows that handling was sharply up 229.87% y-o-y.
Meanwhile, handling of steel pipe export by Magdalla Port stood at 1,650 tons in November 2015, showing a sharp fall of 83.87% against 10,230 tons handled in October 2015.
However, during the first eight months (April-November) of 2015-16, steel pipe export handling by this port stood at 59,805 tons, showing a sharp rise of 75.73% from 34,032 tons handled in the same period of 2014-15.
Similarly, handling of steel pipe export by the port in November 2014 stood at 1,064 tons, which shows that handling was sharply up 55.08% y-o-y.
