On Friday the metal index was up 18 points, which offsets Thursday’s 21 points decrease.
Stock market traders said, the metal index and overall market is directionless ahead of the fourth quarter (Q4) results.
On Thursday, the index decreased because of a European oil crisis.
The S&P BSE Metal index increased 18.54 points (0.25%) to close at 7,467.82 on April 8 from the previous closing of 7,448.82. The highs and lows on April 8 were 7,507.96 and 7,409.49 respectively.
Global markets such as CAC, DAX and FTSE were trading in the green but the domestic index, the Sensex, was in the red zone. It decreased 11.58 points (0.05%) to close at 24,673.84.
On April 8, most of the stocks on the S&P BSE Metal closed in the green. The maximum gain was registered by Jindal Steel, with the stock increasing 10.62% to close at Rs 62.65. The maximum loss was registered by Tata Steel, with the stock decreasing -0.52% to close at Rs 322.25.
