October 5: Pig iron offers remained volatile on low buying support from foundries and steel producers in a market.
Offers moved down by Rs 100 per ton in Batala and Rs 300 per ton in Jalandhar. However, offers were up by Rs 500 per ton in Ghaziabad.
Current pig iron offers were in the range of Rs 25,000 - 26,500 per ton.
Meanwhile, RINL kept pig iron prices unchanged in September 2015, according to information available with ISMW.
RINL is offering pig iron at Rs 19,463 per ton (inclusive of excise, VAT extra) in September as against same price in August.
In the April-August period of 2015-16, pig iron production rose 1.9% to 4.04 million tons as against 3.96 million tons in the same period last year, according to steel ministry data.
