The S&P BSE Metal index went up 1.78% despite a net loss reported by JSW Steel for the third quarter. The index closed at 6,894.01, up 120 points (1.78%) from the previous close at 6,773.43. Today the index opened at 6,779.85 and went up to 6,947.14. The day’s low was at 6,779.85.
A number of underlying stocks of the index closed positive but major steel players reported negative growth. Tata Steel, SAIL and JSW Steel decreased by 1.71%, 0.12% and 3.17% respectively. After the negative result of JSW Steel, Kunal Bothra of LKP Securities advised to sell JSW.
