As of August 3, 2023, Madsen Steel Wire has officially announced its
acquisition of a large 100,000 sq. ft. facility located in Bronson, Michigan.
It will house a state-of-the-art powder coating line that will not only
apply coating to a wide variety of wire products produced at Madsen Steel
Wire’s headquarters in Orland, Indiana, it will also coat any wire or sheet
metal product customers need.
The
best-in-class powder coating line will enable Madsen Steel Wire to become a
one-stop shop for industries such as commercial kitchens, grocery stores,
bakeries, automotive, lighting, recreation, warehouses, and industrial
businesses that need wire products protected for a variety of reasons. Powder
coating protects against extremely hot or cold temperatures, corrosion,
scratches, and more.
Michigan's
governor recently unveiled Madsen Steel Wire’s exciting news as it will bolster the
local Bronson community as well as the state of Michigan. The
facility, which had been vacant for 15 years prior, used to be a powerhouse in
the community and employed many. The acquisition has initially created 70 new
jobs, and the facility has been transformed into a proper modern factory. This
has caused major excitement within the Bronson community.
Brandon M.
Mersman, Bronson city manager, couldn’t agree more. “By adding new jobs and
injecting vital funds into our local economy, this partnership is a significant
step forward for Bronson. We eagerly anticipate the positive impact Madsen
Steel Wire will bring to our residents, workforce, and overall quality of
life,” he says.
Madsen
Steel Wire’s expansion was fully backed by the Michigan Economic Development
Corporation (MEDC), and the Michigan Business Development Program (MBDP) is
providing instrumental support with a performance-based grant amounting to
$552,000.
Drew
Greenblatt, the president of Marlin Steel, had this to say about the
partnership with Michigan: "Michigan has been an outstanding partner in
growing USA manufacturing by reinvesting in the local community. Madsen Steel
Wire Products is excited to expand its manufacturing floor space by 100,000
square feet to handle our fast growth."
As a
testament to Madsen Steel Wire’s commitment to growth and investment in its
employees, just last year, they purchased two best-in-class machines, a Trumpf
TruBend 3000 press brake and a Schlatter MG950 wire welder to produce wire
products quicker and more efficiently while boosting product quality.
